“Contrasts – Impressionism and Romanticism” at Helsinki Old Church – April 27 2019 19.00

Helsinki Chamber Soloists’ next performance will be held at the oldest church in central Helsinki. The concert is a juxtaposition of the extremes, from the transparency of impressionistic melodies to a jaunty dance of death which then culminates in a triumphant mood with some rich romanticism. The program consists of traditional orchestral repertoire that will be transformed into an intimate setting by fourteen musicians.

C. Saint-Saens: Danse macabre, Op. 40
C. Debussy: Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune
J. Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73
